A word of caution to those travelling via the Pickering to Whitby road across the moors. This is a beautiful journey but as you approach Sleights near Blue Bank your SatNav may suggest turning right to go through Little Beck. This route has some very steep and narrow lanes and is best avoided. Instead stay on the A169 into Whitby and connect with the A171 to Scarborough.
By Car
Directions from Whitby.
Follow the A171 to Scarborough and Hawsker. Just after a set of pedestrian lights turn left onto the B1447 to Hawsker, Fylingthorpe and RHB, and follow the road for about 2½ miles into Robin Hood’s Bay. When you come into Robin Hood’s Bay you will reach a roundabout with The Victoria Hotel on your left and Bank Top car park on your right. We are situated opposite Bank Top car park.
Directions from Scarborough
Follow A171 for about 14 miles from Scarborough. Turn right into Sled gates signposted Robin Hood’s Bay and Fylingthorpe. Follow the road for about 2 miles through Fylingthorpe to RHB. At the T junction turn right. Lynnfield is 30 metres on the left and opposite Bank Top car park.
By Bus from Scarborough and Whitby
The Number 93 runs a return service from Scarborough to Whitby. Buses run each way at approximately one hour intervals.
Taxis from Scarborough and Whitby
This can be a quicker option and certainly from Whitby doesn’t work out much more expensive if two of you are travelling. If four are travelling it is cheaper than the bus. Contact us if you would like us to recommend a taxi for you.
Free Parking
We have 2 visitor permits available for our guests as well as a single parking bay at the rear of our property. The permit entitles you to free parking at Bank Top and Station Car Parks in Robin Hood’s Bay for the duration of your stay. It does not guarantee a particular space but does mean you can make a significant saving on the cost of your break.
